Just how much to share

The question for everyone today is?? How much should a blogger share about their life?  What is to much sharing. So far I have been talking about the farm and all that goes into the farm.  I really never talk about me, difficulties (besides computer frustrations), or anything to personal.  So what should the boundaries be?  I have health issues and sometime I would like to talk about them.  Is that too much?  I would love to hear viewers thoughts.

I've tried to share very 'personal' information at various times over my lifetime and have always sought the advise of my 'better half' prior to publishing/sending/saying my piece. He has continually advised against sharing. I have to say that about 99% of the time he is right ...without being able to see and assure that what I say is what is heard/read/seen, most times it would probably have been misinterpreted. Love me or not, most people cannot hear the real me I'm trying to reveal and my revelation would only bring me pain from those with whom I most care to communicate. Without having lived in my shoes they can only interpret based on their own life experience and unless you have the time and talent to write a lengthy 'book', misinterpretation is always waiting to trip you up.

This sounds very negative and I'm not really that anti...I love and try to receive all revelation in non-judgmental acceptance. My training and experience as a Stephen's Minister (lay listener/psychologist) has proven to me that even with my best intensions, my acceptance and even actions toward another person can be influenced by revelations that were outside my life experience. All revelation brings judgment even in something as simple as how one mows the lawn. I made the mistake of criticizing Dad's crazy-path way of mowing over my desire to have beautiful straight lines and to this day I have friends who remember that comment and say things about Don 'strange' way of mowing. I should have kept my mouth shut and they would never have noticed; one can't control what the other person hears/reads and remembers.

To try and go back to answering your questions, I personally believe in sharing (probably more than I should). What I've done when I really feel a need to share something that maybe won't be understood is to write it down and then set it aside. A day or two later I may or may not send what I wrote; usually I will modify somewhat how or what I've said and even add something humorous to lighten my comment. Those who can read between the lines because of their life experience will understand and may even comment but I have the release from frustration/anger/etc that helps me go on.

This is a really negative mood response...please forgive me. Share any and everything you want being aware of negative humanity. I know you can defend yourself and are a very strong person (I like to think I am also) but some very hurtful things can be said that can bruise ones heart. Don't mishear me here...I've done the bruising as well as been bruised. Sometimes I think I am responsible for both.

Love you so very much,

Lee

Never fear...no hurt has been received by me from you. You are a hero in my eyes and my only 'complaint' is that you are so strong and independent you don't need me. That's an irony not a hurt! Love you, Lee
