My recipe this week will still be Stew. I am going to try and add pictures with each. That way you know I eat what I share. Crock Pot Beef Stew is one of our favorites. It is a dish that we don't eat in the summer and look forward to the minute it gets cold enough to each again. Comfort food. We will be eating a lot of this type while we head into the end of Winter and the beginning of Spring. Starting to look forward to Grilling S
Its a beautiful Wednesday and since I forgot to stop at verizon my camera is still not letting me upload my pictures. So I'm posting whatever I have. HAHA..... What I have found is everyone is a lot happier reading my silliness if there is something nice to look at. So here is my youngest Bags Board. His chicken (drawn by my honey and decorated by my youngest) is his representation of the Univ of Michigan, Columbia University and the Shawshank Tree. Tomorrow I'll post my eldest princesses bag board.
If you look through some of the photos on the home page you will see the original photograph of the Shawshank tree. The name of the tree comes from the movie Shawshank Redemption. There is a tree that Tim Robbins tells Morgan Freeman about and this is where Tim Robbins directs Morgan Freeman to go to get directions on how to find Tim Robbins. Well wasn't that a mouth full. Anyway during the movie it was dubbed the Shawshank Tree by my daughter and when we bought our farm, this tree received that title. All very complicated for something so simple. Thats me, gotta say more that I need to.
Well everyone have a great rest of the night. More tomorrow.
This is a great picture of My Honey, our son and our future daughter in law playing a mean game of Bags. Smiles all around.
We've been busy. As we prepare for spring, we need to amend the soil, did holes for new trees, plant flowers, and get our new seeds started. We did a whole lot of weeding, grading the drive way, painting a second coat on the bee hives and just Plain enjoying the outside. I am ready for my farmers tan, how about you.
Well on Thursday we had Four Rooster and today Sunday we only have 1. So did the Hawks get them or did they have a fight to death. We may never know but there was a disturbance in the chicken Force and balance is slowing coming back. All is shows Me is that I still have a lot to learn about me Roosters and Hens.
Have you ever seen a Hawk, Eagle or Owl just soaring through the air. They are so magestic and graceful. They move way to fast for me to even snap a picture of them. They eat Moles, Voles, Rabbits and other pests which is wonderful. They are considered a predator so they are off limits to hunters. My beef with them today is they seem to think my hens are there for them as an afternoon snack. Oh my... Well I'm going to order some Mylar strips today and decorate my trees and bushes. I think it will look really tacky, but hey it will make for a great picture once I get it done. Everyone Have a great Wednesday Night. Bye
Scott and I got our little greenhouse to get our seeds started. What do you think? I think it is just the right size. For me that is :)
My Honey is a very talented wood work. Here he along with a little help from his brother and son in law constructed 4 Bags boards. But he Burned the pictures on them. Then He and the Kids decorated (painted) them. What do you think of our hens?
Thats right, we have Chickens, we have had turkeys, We have Eggs, and we are working on Fruit trees, Nut Trees, Other Fruits and Vegetables and Bee's. But we are also a crafty type of Family.
Remember when I showed you the picture of "Red" laying eggs in my flower pot. Well we have had Queenie hid them on top of the shed, and one of the Harley girls lays them under the Bags game and another layed them under an old mailbox. We don't get to upset, we just take these hidden eggs and put them in the incubator and thats how we get baby chicks. Well guess where the new stash was yesterday. Inside the Camo hunting blind. We don't know how old they were so they were just composted. Crazy hens just trying to hide their eggs from us. You would like that if they went to all the effort of hiding them they would at least sit on them. Silly girls.
What I hear is, Bee's aren't to picky about color. Here is a site that shows many pictures of very artistic Bee Hives.
